Petrobank to Increase Public Communication in Princeton

Calgary, AB – October 12, 2004: Petrobank Energy and Resources Ltd. is planning to drill and exploratory coalbed gas (CBG) well in the Princeton area. The company is presently waiting for regulatory approval and is securing the appropriate equipment.

The company has noted residential concern for more information. “During the past few weeks we have been preparing materials to provide to the community and have been in discussion with government officials to educate and inform them about this project, said Rene LaPrade, Vice President Operation. “Our company along with two government agencies are preparing to provide the community with information about CBG and our specific project.”

Petrobank first introduced the project to the community in April, 2004, through letters to residents immediately surrounding the well site. Two open houses were held in Princeton with approximately 200 people attending. In addition, the company has informed community officials of the project through personal visits and correspondence. A number of news stories have appeared on the project.

A toll free number – 1.866.764.4571 – has been set up for residents to call with their inquiries. The company is preparing information to publish regarding its project and has recently sent a letter to residents within a 3 km radius of the project.

“We know a desire for more information exists. Our interest is to ensure the community knows the facts about our exploration well and we will be sharing information in a very public fashion,” concluded LaPrade.
