The front edge of the drainage volume has now reached the heel of the horizontal producer. The next set of follow-on horizontal wells can now be drilled. The reservoir is already preheated and the process can continue on in the steady state phase at peak production rates without additional start-up phases. The region behind the burning front is now swept of oil, demonstrating why high recovery factors are expected with the THAI™ process.
