Developing Resource Plays to Drive Long-Term Growth

We began rebuilding our conventional oil business in 2001 and have continued to aggressively expand those assets over the past decade, largely concentrating on the Bakken formation in southeastern Saskatchewan to ultimately become one of the largest producers from the Bakken resource play.

In October 2009, we contributed our conventional light oil and natural gas assets to an entirely new entity – PetroBakken. Since that time, PetroBakken has increased their overall land holdings and grown significantly from being a Bakken-focused producer to having extensive resource assets in Alberta's Cardium light oil play and British Columbia's Montney and Horn River gas plays.

PetroBakken primarily focuses on light oil resource plays where their technological expertise can be effectively applied. To-date, PetroBakken has drilled and operated over 800 horizontal wells with multi-stage frac completions.
